UTAS is a Delaware LLC that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Offshore Consulting Services Limited (“OCSL”), which is an international wealth planning company and the lead entity in the OCSL Group.
OCSL Group has been delivering international wealth planning guidance since 1996 including fiduciary advice on trusts and private foundations. We formed UTAS to “ring fence” our US Trust and Tax advisory services from our other wealth planning activities that encompass almost every international financial center (“IFC”).
We deemed it beneficial for a US company to advise on US trusts, and their related tax issues, while leaving OCSL to advise on all other kinds of trusts and private foundations. OCSL Group is known for its excellent client service, multi-jurisdictional knowledge and for its huge network of IFC contacts because its CEO has held senior-level positions with companies in 18 jurisdictions. The Group motto is “if we don’t know it, then we know someone who does”.
OCSL Group has business relationships with US trust and tax professionals, in various US states, so UTAS clients can be well advised. The main office is in Florida courtesy of a joint venture arrangement with International Tax Consultants LLC, which is a tax advisory firm that also has an office in the Bahamas where OCSL is also domiciled.
